It was a warm, breezy day at Sunset Reef. A lot of people and their families were out on the beach; splashing amongst the shallow water or up in the sand making castles. Also, a few campus students were out and about the beach today. One of them being Brendan Peterson.
Brendan ran in to shore, his red and orange surf board under his right arm. He jogged over to his towel and stuck his board into the ground. Out of breath, he sat down on his towel. He chuckled, looking at the little kids paddling around on their boogyboards. He smiled and picked up his Snapple iced tea from beside him, popping off the cap and taking a big drink. "Ah. There we go." he said aloud to himself, resting his elbows on his bent legs. He squinted as his eyes scanned the beach, looking for something to catch his eye. 'Nope, nothing. Just a bunch of kids and their parents.' he thought, looking back at the water. He took another sip from his bottle and wiggled his toes, feeling to sand go between them. He felt something move beside him. Not thinking it was really anything, He looked.
There next to him was a medium sized hermit crab. Out of instinct, he jumped up. "Geeze. After all the years I've spent on the beach and I still get scared by you little guys." he said, bending over and lightly shaking off his towel. The little crab rolled off of the towel, quickly balling up into his shell and rolling away from the towel and onto the damp sand. With a laugh, he shook his head and sat down. He looked over to his other side, seeing his spilled Snapple a few feet away. "Good thing I brought more than one." he said, feeling behind him and grabbing his backpack he used to the beach. He rummaged around for a minute until he felt the cool glass of the Snapple bottle. He pulled it out and set in on the sand, but this time he'd be sure not to spill it.

Becca was bored in her dorm and she felt that a beautiful day shouldn't go to waste, so she changed out of her sweats into a green Hollister tank top and some abercrombie dark wash shorts. She grabbed her swim suit, some munchies, a towel and some money she headed out of her dorm and down to the parking lot. Since she didn't really know where she was going, she just drove slowly around the area, trying to get familiar with it. After seeing a sign for the beach, she turned off the road and into the parking lot that was filled with sand. She turned off her car, grabbed her stuff and headed out to the beach. There wasn't a lot of people she knew there, mostly families and some students from Bay Pointe.
She quickly found her perfect spot, just a little bit off of the water. She sat down and took off her stuff until her pink and light green striped bikini was all that was on her. She looked out in the water and some people were surfing. She felt instantly jealous, she'd always wanted to know how to surf. I wonder if I can find anywhere that teaches lessons. That'll be my first goal here at Bay Pointe; to learn to surf. She took off the perched Chanel sunglasses that were on her nose and grabbed a bag of combo's out of her bag and got lost in the whole feeling of being free and on a beach. She let out a happy sigh as some little boys passed her and just enjoyed laying out.

Finally regaining his energy, Brendan hopped back onto two feet once again. He ran his hand through his hair, making it so it didn't stick to his forehead. He adjusted his thermo crew shirt and grabbed his board once again. He walked down to the shore, waiting on a few upcoming waves that looked promising. Spotting a few waves in the distance, he plunged into the water. Paddling his arms furociously, he made it out in a matter of a minute. He faced himself toward shore and felt the wave start to suck him in. He started to lightly paddle, then feeling his board being pulled away even faster, he paddled harder and soon he was on top of the wave. Quickly he caught his balance and stood up in rider's stance. He always had the brightest of smiles on his face when he surfed, one way to pick him out in a crowd of surfers. He rode the wave out to about a few feet from shore and he controlled the board to a stop. He picked his board up and walked up onto the wet sand for a minute. He observed the water, trying to find another wave worth riding; particularly a big one. Then he could hear the distinct sound of his cell phone only about 10 feet away. He took another look out to the ocean and jogged back to his towel again.
He reached into his bag and grabbed out his black T-Mobile motorizr, it blaring the 'mobile charm'. He looked at the caller i.d. seeing that it was Bryan. He slid open the phone and put it up to his ear. "Heyyy, man. .. Yeah, I'm doing great. It's pretty nice here. ... Haha. Bryan, I just got here. ... (laughing).. Well, I'm at the beach and I'm going to go catch some waves. .. Yeah, later bro." After he said bye he hung up and then checked his missed calls to make sure he was clean. His eyes scanned the list, "Nope, all good." He smiled and turned off his cell phone, something he usually did when he was out at the beach. He leaned down and grabbed his Snapple; he popped off the cap and his eyes stayed on the water, watching for another wave.

Becca was starting to fall asleep when she heard the ringing of a cell phone. She looked around, to see who caused the noise and found it to be a boy. He looked like he was about her age, and had a surf board. She recognized him as the guy she saw in the water when she got here. She waited until he was done with his phone call and then walked over to ask him something. "Um, excuse me. But I couldn't help but notice that you're a fantastic surfer. I was wondering if you give lessons." She took a quick breath and then realized she hadn't introduced herself yet. "Oh, I'm Becca, by the way. I go to Bay Pointe." She pointed over in the general direction of the school.
Not having much more to say, she looked around at his stuff. He was drinking a half empty bottle of Snapple and he had a red and orange surfboard. Great, you probably look like a really big geek standing here, asking some random stranger if they give surfing lessons. But Becca quickly pushed those thoughts aside and tried to focus back on the boy right next to her. She held out her hand to shake, waiting for his reply.

Brendan took another sip from his Snapple bottle, then lowered it from his lips when he saw a gorgeous wave coming. He quickly screwed on the cap and dropped it into the sand, but just as he plucked his board from the ground, he heard a girl's voice from beside him. He looked at her, then back at the wave to see it crash onto the shore, seeing its remains lap the coast-line. He looked back at the girl with a chuckle, comprehending what she had just said. "Hah, thanks." he responded, now his eyes were on her. She was a rather pretty girl with long-ish blonde hair, tanned skin, and a body that appeared to be an athletes. He smiled once again when she asked him about lessons. "I don't know if I'm that good of a teacher, but it's worth a shot." he said with a chuckle, glancing at his board.
"Nice to meet you, Becca," his smile getting wider when he heard her say that she went to Bay Point also, "I'm Brendan. Sweet, I go to Bay Pointe too."he let out a single laugh. "Well, lessons will start at around 80 bucks an hour.." he mumbled just loud enough for her to hear. "Just kidding, ha. We could start now if you want." he said, picking his board up once again with a slight smirk. He looked from Becca to the beach then back to Becca, waiting for her to answer.
